Evaluations

The Little Speech Clinic offers individualized comprehensive speech and language evaluations to assess your child’s speech and language skills. Therapists use a combination of standardized assessments, and informal observation and parent feedback to best determine your child’s speech and language strengths and opportunities for growth. Following the evaluation, you will receive a written report describing the findings and clinical recommendations. Your therapist will review the report with you and answer any questions you may have.

Speech & Language Therapy

The development of a treatment plan is based on the initial evaluation along with the priorities of the family. During speech-language therapy, a certified speech-language pathologist will work with your child and the family to target your child’s specific speech and language goals. We aim to provide individualized and innovative treatment while capitalizing on children's strengths and interests to best support their specific needs. We have experience treating children with a variety of delays and diagnoses, from birth through adolescence which includes, but are not limited to:

• Articulation and Phonology Disorders

• Expressive Language Disorders

• Receptive Language Disorders

• Motor-planning disorders, such as Childhood Apraxia of Speech

• Auditory Processing Disorders

• Autism Spectrum Disorder

Illinois Early Intervention Program

Early Intervention is a government-run program that supports children with developmental delays or disabilities from birth to 3 years old. If you have concerns regarding your child's development and your child is between zero and three years old, he or she may be eligible for the Illinois Early Intervention program. The Little Speech Clinic is credentialed with the Illinois Early Intervention Program. You can request us to be your ongoing Early Intervention speech therapist.

Screenings/ Consultations

The Little Speech Clinic offers complimentary screenings and consultations to determine whether a comprehensive evaluation is warranted. Screenings consist of a brief in-person assessment by appointment. Consultations provide an opportunity for parents to consult with a licensed speech-language pathologist to express concerns regarding their child’s speech and language skills. Neither a screening or consultation gives us specifics about what is happening but rather indicates whether a formal evaluation is needed.
